HISTORY - The Southern European Task Force (SETAF) has been forward deployed since the 1950's and remains an integral part of the U.S. Army's Power Projection ability. MISSION - SETAF is a rapid reaction Army-led joint task force headquarters with robust combat capabilities and trained and ready forces capable of deploying anywhere directed within 24 hours of alert notification for joint war fighting or stability operations. SETAF is forward deployed and strategically positioned in Vicenza, Italy, and operates and exercises with other countries throughout EUCOM AOR.
